Myngle

I just signed up at myngle as a teacher. Check out this code of conduct:

  • - I will not disclose my email/Skype address or other contact details to the Myngle students
  • - I will teach lessons to Myngle students always using the Myngle virtual classroom
  • - I will accept all lesson bookings from students and will attend the lessons on time
  • - I will not cancel any lessons. If I have to change the time of a lesson, I will use the ‘Reschedule’ button and follow up personally with the student so that he/she is not discouraged
  • - If I have to cancel a lesson due to an unforeseen event, I will inform both Myngle and the student as soon as possible, preferably before the start of the lesson so that Myngle can find a substitute teacher for the student

This would be a good time to see if my skype assembly are functioning well enough for me to hear and be heard intelligibly.

Classes are one on one, 45 minutes in length and take place on the myngle platform. Payment is via Paypal in EURO. I have elected to charge 15 EURO. Myngle takes 18% commission. Goodness knows what the Paypal fee is or the conversion fee since my Paypal account is denominated in USD (for the time being).

P.S. Soon we will introduce our new virtual classroom. I hope you like it.

  2. Sounds very similar to contracts often used at English schools in Japan. The purpose: To make sure the teachers don’t pilfer students and set up private lessons, thereby taking a larger cut. I wonder if other schools and online services have make similar requirements.

  3. Hey Chris thanks for the input. I am going to register with other online teaching outfits so I’ll be able to compare contracts.

  4. Sounds interesting. Did you get any lessons from it?
